Segregation can be an emotive subject. Claims that we are "sleepwalking into segregation" or the refusal to discuss such contentious issues at all because they give the Far Right the "oxygen of publicity," are not helpful. The debate should be a lot more nuanced and, in whatever way segregation is defined and measured, there is more than one discernible trend. Some of these may be seen as positive, while others may raise concerns.
