"On 12 July 2006, Hizbollah fighters kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and killed three others. Israel responded by launching a bombing campaign that has killed hundreds and crippled the country of Lebanon. The airport was bombed making it unusable. All main highways and bridges leading to Beirut are bombed making them unpassable. The only way in is a very expensive and risky taxi ride from Syria."
